Let’s face it; no one wants to think about heart disease or strokes. The reality is that these things have a significant potential to impact us in our lives. It’s reported that somewhere around 795,000 people a year suffer from strokes in the United States. On top of that, approximately 735,000 Americans suffer from heart attacks per year. Although it is something we don’t like to think about, heart disease and stroke are major issues, and it’s only smart to do whatever you can to try to prevent these issues in your life. LifeLine Screening wants to be your solution to finding out your potential risk for these problems.

LifeLine Screening evaluates your risk of suffering from heart disease or stroke. They state that an alarming 4 out of 5 stroke victims’ first sign of symptoms is the actual stroke itself. The process is straightforward. First, you click a link to find a location close to you so they can administer the screening. I entered my zip code with the desired screening time and was shocked to find I had 6 locations to choose from within a 25-mile radius. Once you pick your location and time, you pay (50% off if you pay online) and lock in your appointment. LifeLine Screening checks for symptoms such as carotid artery plaque build-up, peripheral arterial disease, and risk of osteoporosis. They also can check for any abdominal aortic aneurysm and atrial fibrillation. Discounted bi-yearly check-ups are available so you can stay on top of any potential changes.

I had never heard of anything like Lifeline Screening, but when I had a health scare earlier this year I was looking into getting screened. I discovered Lifeline in my research, and I was very interested in making all my appointments online rather than having to figure out the right doctor to see. The entire process of signing up to actually going in for my screening was quick and painless, and I was able to put aside my health worries thanks to the screening. I now know I am in good health thanks to my screening, so I am very satisfied with my whole experience.

How Does It Work?

When you make your appointment, you will receive detailed instructions about when and where to check in for your appointment, as well as any preparation instructions. Depending on which health screenings you choose, you may be required to fast (drinking water only) for 4-12 hours prior to your appointment.

When you arrive, you will be greeted and fill out some paperwork. A Life Line Screening tech will call you to the private screening area to conduct your tests.

Each health check takes just a few minutes to conduct, and you can stay clothed and comfortable.

You may receive some of your test results at the screening. The remaining results, which are reviewed by a board-certified physician, are mailed to you within 21 days.

LifeLine Screening offers more than 15 preventive screening options, providing comprehensive health screening services for anyone age 50+. This selection of ultrasound, blood, and EKG analysis enables people to understand more fully what risk factors they have for cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, osteoporosis and more.

The modern health screening tests and data used by LifeLine incorporate the same technology used in leading hospitals. These health screening services, combined with the ongoing medical care provided by a personal physician, are designed to keep people independent and active for as long as possible.

Lifeline Screening has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Using Ultrasound techniques and a minimal EKG test (electrocardiogram), they can non-invasively test for potential warning signs for stroke and heart disease. Although no one wants to think about it, these health problems are a reality. LifeLine Screening wants to give you the tools you need to prevent the preventable. For a nominal fee, wouldn’t it be nice to give yourself the best chance of avoiding two of the biggest killers in the country and the world? LifeLine Screening wants you to know your warning signs before they sneak up on you.
