Participants can receive up to $100 in Amazon credit, and dogs assigned placebo can receive active chews afterward. Those design details should remain attached to any eventual result. Until data, methods, attrition, endpoints, analysis, and conflicts are available, “a trial is underway” is the finding—not “the trial proves it works.”

What is in Dog Is Human DM-01?

The current chicken DM-01 page lists 60 chews and weight-based dosing of one, two, or three chews daily. Its table names glucosamine 200 mg, MSM 100 mg, salmon oil 95 mg, 500 million CFU, vitamins, and a 75 mg postbiotic blend. Lower on the same page, the 75 mg item is called chondroitin instead. Verify the physical label and lot result before use.

The current chicken product page lists glucosamine HCl from crustacean, MSM, salmon oil, three microorganisms, and vitamins A, D3, E, B2, B6, B9, and B12. The inactive list includes chicken liver, coconut ingredients, brewer's yeast, smoke flavor, rosemary, sunflower ingredients, and tapioca starch. Allergens and concurrent supplements therefore matter as much as the active table.

The last row is not a cosmetic typo: a postbiotic and chondroitin are different inputs. A buyer should photograph the actual jar's ingredient and guaranteed-analysis panels, record the lot number, and use the company's lot lookup. RealReviews did not have a jar or lot number and therefore did not independently confirm which 75 mg ingredient was shipped.

What side effects are reported for Dog Is Human?

Dog Is Human says to stop the product and contact a veterinarian if a dog has an adverse reaction. Reviews and complaints include unverified reports of vomiting, diarrhea, and other illness; they cannot establish that DM-01 caused the event. The trial instructions tell participants to contact a veterinarian first for urgent or health-related concerns and to report severe vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of an allergic reaction. That is sensible escalation guidance. It is not evidence that a specific review allegation was caused by the chew.

Regulation is easy to misread. The FDA explains that the human Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act does not create a special dietary-supplement category for animals. Depending on composition and intended use, these products fall under animal-food or animal-drug rules. “Human-grade,” “veterinarian formulated,” and ingredient citations are not FDA approval of the finished chew for a disease.

AAFCO guidance adds a practical warning: healthy dogs on a complete and balanced life-stage diet generally do not need a supplement, and exceeding upper nutrient limits can be harmful. Vitamin D has a particularly narrow margin between need and toxicity in dogs. Bring the food label and every treat, chew, powder, and medication to the veterinarian; checking only DM-01 misses cumulative exposure.

At capture, chicken DM-01 cost $46 once or $39 by subscription for 60 chews. That equals about $0.77/$0.65 per day for dogs under 25 pounds, $1.53/$1.30 for dogs needing two chews, and $2.30/$1.95 for dogs needing three. One-time orders also had a $4.95 shipping fee; subscription shipping was free. Prices, discounts, taxes, and delivery frequency can change.

The jar price hides the weight effect. A 60-chew jar lasts 60 days at one chew, 30 days at two, and only 20 days at three. At the captured chicken subscription price, that is roughly $237 per year for the smallest dose, $475 at two chews, and $712 at three before tax or future price changes.

Beef was also more expensive at capture: $58 once or $49 by subscription. Compare flavor-specific labels and prices, not just the headline offer. A percentage discount can still produce a high annual cost when the dog needs two or three chews each day.

How do you cancel a Dog Is Human subscription?

Dog Is Human subscriptions continue until canceled. The official FAQ directs customers to log in and manage or cancel through the account portal; the terms say cancellation stops future charges only, while already-processed orders fall under the return policy. Cancel before the next processing date, save the confirmation and account screenshot, and separately request a return if another order has already entered fulfillment.

The May 2026 terms describe continuous subscription billing until cancellation. “Easy cancel anytime” should be read as access to a cancellation mechanism, not permission to reverse an order after it has processed. The exact cutoff before the next shipment is the operational fact a buyer needs.

This record separates three disputes that are often collapsed in complaints: whether cancellation was submitted, whether the next order had already processed, and whether a processed order qualifies for a return.

What does the Dog Is Human refund policy cover?

The current policy advertises a 90-day guarantee, but it covers only the most recent order, no more than two jars, and excludes orders of three or more items. “Money back” also does not mean every payment inside the window is refundable. The current explanation narrows coverage to the most recent order, caps it at two jars, excludes purchases of three or more items, and applies a $9 US shipping-and-processing deduction. Record the return authorization, tracking, delivery, inspection notice, refund amount, and payment-posting date. That evidence turns a vague “refund never arrived” problem into a traceable timeline.

Which Dog Is Human alternative fits the actual need?

For a healthy dog eating a complete and balanced diet, the best alternative may be no multivitamin; AAFCO warns that unnecessary supplementation can exceed safe nutrient limits. For persistent itching, digestive trouble, or mobility changes, begin with a veterinarian and the actual cause. If supplementation is indicated, compare a condition-specific product by dose, allergens, NASC quality participation, lot-level testing, published product evidence, and cancellation terms.
